On Tuesday, July 14, 2026, members of the Natrona County Mustang football team assembled at midfield during a camp held at Cheney Alumni Field. Simultaneously in Omaha, Jane Kleeb, the chair of the Nebraska Democratic Party, delivered a speech at a campaign event for Denise Powell. Powell is the Democratic candidate for Nebraska's second congressional district, and the event took place at Metro Community College's Center for Advanced Manufacturing to support her political run.
