Twelve states are suing to stop the Paramount-Warner deal that Washington already waved through

Twelve states, led by California Attorney General Rob Bonta, have filed a federal lawsuit to block the Paramount Skydance takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery. Despite the Justice Department approving the $110bn deal last month after an eight-month review, the states argue this unlawful merger would inflict substantial harm on basic cable and movie theaters. While the suit seeks to stop the transaction, Representative Darrell Issa has expressed opposition to the legal action taken by the states.
