208,589 new AI agents on Base in one week: where the money went, and two things we were counting wrong

Between 13 October and 20 October 2026, 208,589 new ERC-8004 agent identities were registered on Base, increasing the total from 111,902 to 320,491. Data from the registry table and on-chain minting confirm these figures. A random sample of 300 IDs indicates that at least 98.7% of these new agents originate from a single platform, centralcity.ai. These measurements were recorded between 12:00 and 17:45 UTC on 20 October 2026, following specific netting rules for counted payments.
