The Repo Is the Context: Why Agents Don’t Need History

AI agents face significant challenges when relying on outdated history or poorly structured web data. While providing context through Markdown files like CLAUDE.md or AGENTS.md seems responsible, agents may confidently execute wrong actions by obeying obsolete documentation. Similarly, capable AI customer service assistants can fail if the company website contains inaccessible or disorganized information. These examples demonstrate that reasoning alone is insufficient; agents require accurate, current context and the ability to effectively utilize the web.
