Man, 41, accused of sexually abusing girl, 6, in Chatham

James Spencer, 41, was charged with one felony count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim under 13. The charges stem from an alleged attack on a 6-year-old girl on Saturday in the first block of West 87th Street in Chatham. Spencer was arrested Wednesday at his South Perry Avenue residence and scheduled for a detention hearing Thursday at the Leighton Criminal Courthouse. Police have provided no further information regarding the ongoing investigation.
