One Democrat to Face Three Republicans for Alaska Governor

Tom Begich, a former state senator and Democratic candidate for Alaska governor, has announced the suspension of his campaign. After advancing to the general election through the open primary, Begich decided to drop out to allow voters to coalesce behind a single Democratic nominee. He officially endorsed his opponent, former state Rep. Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins. Consequently, one Democrat will now face three Republican candidates in the upcoming November ballot for the governorship of Alaska.
