Alex Murdaugh’s lawsuit against Rebecca Hill dismissed by judge who says clerk doesn’t owe him for defense

A federal judge dismissed Alex Murdaugh's $600,000 lawsuit against former court clerk Rebecca Hill. Murdaugh sought recovery of legal fees, claiming Hill violated his right to a fair trial regarding the deaths of his wife and son. Although Hill's misconduct led to the overturning of Murdaugh's murder convictions on appeal, the judge ruled he lacked standing to recover defense costs. Consequently, Murdaugh will face trial again following the dismissal of the suit filed in May.
