Apple's $634 Million Apple Watch Patent Bill Just Got Even Bigger

Apple's financial liability to medical technology company Masimo has increased after a federal judge ordered an additional 184 million in interest. This follows a previous 634 million judgment regarding low-power pulse oximeter features in the Apple Watch. The total bill now reaches approximately 818 million, excluding ongoing post-judgment interest. Judge James Selna rejected Apple's windfall argument, stating that prejudgment interest ensures the patent owner is made whole according to U.S. Supreme Court guidance.
