AMC Theatres Gets Into Distribution Game With Launch Of Leawood Films Label

AMC Theatres, the world's largest exhibitor chain, has launched Leawood Films, a new distribution label targeting small and mid-sized independent movies. The venture aims to provide homes for features from major film festivals. Leawood Films is advised by veteran Hollywood executives Toby Emmerich and Ricky Strauss. Additionally, Kyle Davies is leaving his role as President of Distribution at Bleecker Street to lead distribution efforts for the new label, strengthening AMC Theatres' entry into the indie film market.
