AMD acquires World Labs AI from Fei-Fei Li for $8B

AMD has agreed to acquire World Labs, a company specializing in models that simulate three-dimensional spaces, for approximately $8.2 billion in an all-stock transaction. This strategic move allows AMD to expand beyond hardware toward a comprehensive AI platform. The deal is expected to close by the end of this year. As part of the acquisition, World Labs founder Fei-Fei Li will join AMD, serving as the company's executive vice president and chief scientist.
