Japan’s Turing takes AMD money and AMD chips to loosen Nvidia’s grip

Turing Inc., a Tokyo-based startup focusing on self-driving software for robotaxis and consumer cars, has integrated AMD Ventures as a backer and transitioned its AI operations to AMD chips to reduce reliance on Nvidia. Simultaneously, AMD has introduced the Ryzen AI Halo developer system, a local AI box featuring the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 SoC. While providing first-party software support, the system's performance and compatibility currently trail Nvidia's GB10 and carry a high price point.
