Anthropic Says Users Can't Be Needlessly Cruel to Claude

Anthropic has updated its usage policy to prohibit users from subjecting Claude AI to sustained, needless, abusive, or cruel behavior. This rule targets extreme cases where users repeatedly act cruelly without a discernible purpose. It does not apply to ordinary frustration, model testing, research, or dark creative themes. Claude models can already terminate conversations with persistently abusive users, which remains the primary enforcement tool. Ending a specific chat does not affect other active conversations.
