UK regulator considers opening Apple, Google app stores to rival payments

The UK Competition and Markets Authority has proposed a regulatory change to allow app developers to steer users toward payment options outside of Apple and Google stores. The regulator believes the most affordable location to purchase digital subscriptions should not be the one place an app is prohibited from mentioning.
