Apple Explains Why It Removed ICE Tracking Apps Last Year

In a July 2026 letter to Representative Jamie Raskin, Apple explained that removing ICEBlock and similar ICE tracking apps from the App Store was driven by agent safety concerns. These concerns, including those from the Trump administration, followed a fatal shooting at a Dallas Immigration and Customs Enforcement office.
