Keep It Real: AI-Generated Songs Banned from Australian Music Charts

The Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) has implemented a new prohibition banning wholly AI-generated songs from Australia's official music charts. This policy, detailed in an update to the ARIA Charts’ code of practice, took effect this Friday. The trade group representing the music industry introduced these changes to promote the human nature of artistry. Consequently, tracks created using generative AI are no longer eligible for the weekly charts that showcase the most popular music in Australia.
