6-month-old baby found dead in South L.A. dumpster investigated as homicide

Authorities are investigating the homicide of a 4- to 6-month-old baby girl discovered in a South Los Angeles dumpster on Monday night. The infant was found around 10:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of East 52nd Street, located across from Holmes Avenue Elementary School in the Central Alameda neighborhood. In connection with the death, a woman has been detained by officials as the investigation into the circumstances of the crime continues.
