Third-Party App Stores Are Finally Coming to Google Play

Starting July 22, Google Play will allow users to download third-party app marketplaces. This shift follows the withdrawal of the settlement between Google and Epic, leaving Google bound by full antitrust remedies. Consequently, Google confirmed it will distribute rival app stores next week. This development enables competing platforms to challenge Google's Android revenue stream, implementing changes that Google did not originally want as the companies avoid their scheduled July 16 court appearance regarding the settlement.
