Legendary costume and fashion designer Bob Mackie has died in Palm Springs, California, at age 87. Known for his exuberant use of sequins, beads, and rhinestones, Mackie created iconic looks for performers including Cher, Carol Burnett, Diana Ross, and Elton John, as well as designs for Barbie. Following the confirmation of his death on September 14, long-time collaborators Cher and Carol Burnett shared tributes, with Cher noting that Mackie has gone to heaven.
