Florida senior fights off alligator attack with fishing pole: ‘No gator is going to run me off’

Two separate alligator attacks occurred during fishing trips in Florida. James Grayson McMicken, 71, escaped injury after fighting off an alligator by digging his thumb into its eye and striking its face with a fishing rod. In another incident, an 11-year-old boy lost his hand during an attack. The child's father jumped into the water in an attempt to pry the alligator's mouth open to save his son from the animal.
