Rebuilding the Cerebras Knowledge Base: an LLM reranker

A new tutorial demonstrates building an MCP server using rmcp, the official Model Context Protocol Rust SDK, to create a devops agent managing AWS EC2 G5g instances serving Gemma 4 via vLLM. Simultaneously, Cerebras explored rebuilding its knowledge base, finding that while hybrid retrieval alone underperformed, integrating an LLM reranker significantly improved MRR from 0.57 to 0.90. This transition allows the knowledge base to function as a set of tools for external MCP clients.
