SiteGen AI began as a project to automatically generate HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for portfolio websites using a FastAPI backend. While the first version successfully turned user prompts into instant results, the developer sought a larger purpose beyond simple landing pages. Consequently, SiteGen AI v2 evolved from a basic website generator into an AI software engineer, shifting its core vision to generate complete, complex software projects rather than just individual web files.
