Cal Flyn explored the Earth’s wild places to write ‘The Savage Landscape’

Cal Flyn traveled tens of thousands of miles across the globe to conduct research for her book, The Savage Landscape: How We Made the Wilderness. Her journey took her to remote regions within Africa, Antarctica, and the Amazon. During these expeditions, she encountered isolated Indigenous communities and men armed with AK-47s. The author explored the Earth's wild places to document the creation of wilderness, gathering firsthand experiences from some of the most distant locations on the planet.
