As Canada Opens Gordie Howe International Bridge, Americans Are Told to Stay Home

The Gordie Howe International Bridge linking Detroit and Windsor, Ontario, officially opened on Friday. The opening followed delays ordered by President Trump and disputes between Washington and Ottawa regarding toll sharing and tariffs. While Canadian officials celebrated the ceremonial opening of the 1.5-mile-long crossing, Americans were told to stay home. Motorists will be able to use the bridge starting July 27, and the facility will also accommodate pedestrians and cyclists upon its full opening.
