Canada picks Germany’s TKMS for historic submarine buy, in nod to Europe

Prime Minister Carney announced that Canada selected German shipbuilder TKMS as the preferred bidder for the Canadian Patrol Submarine Project (CPSP). The agreement involves supplying up to twelve submarines based on the Type 212CD design, currently under production for Germany and Norway. TKMS secured the contract by beating a competing bid from South Korea's Hanwha Ocean.
