CFTC Breaks New Ground as Equity Perpetual Futures Get Green Light

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has officially authorized the trading of equity perpetual futures on regulated U.S. exchanges. Chairman Michael Selig stated that these crypto-native instruments, which previously transformed cryptocurrency speculation, are now available for traditional stocks. This regulatory approval allows traders to utilize perpetual futures tied to individual stocks on CFTC-registered platforms for the first time, marking a significant shift as a digital asset trading mechanism enters the traditional American equity market.
