CBS has ordered a single-camera comedy pilot titled Hilda! (In Lights!) from writer and executive producer Abbey Caldwell. The series follows a 70-year-old woman from Nebraska who moves to New York City to pursue her Broadway dreams. Produced by CBS Studios, the project was previously in advanced development with three scripts. Notably, this represents the first broadcast network pilot order for the 2027-28 season, aligning with the long-term development strategy currently implemented by the network.
