Most San Francisco residents support police using drones, cameras, automated license plate readers: poll

Automated License Plate Readers (ALPRs) are camera systems that digitize vehicle images into text files, storing time and location data for travel mapping. These devices are installed on traffic lights, roads, and intersections. According to a poll by GrowSF, a significant majority of San Francisco residents support the use of this technology. Specifically, 72% of residents favor allowing police to utilize ALPRs, alongside drones and other cameras, to assist in law enforcement activities.
