‘Children of Blood & Bone’ Author Tomi Adeyemi “Will Not Watch” Film Adaptation: “It’s Been Painful”

Tomi Adeyemi, author of the 2018 YA novel Children of Blood & Bone, stated she will not watch the film adaptation directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood. Adeyemi described the process as painful and is officially separating her name from the project. The Paramount production, featuring Amandla Stenberg, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Viola Davis, is scheduled to premiere on January 15. The author recently addressed these decisions in response to a fan's question regarding the upcoming cinematic release.
