US bans use of China’s DeepSeek AI tools by government agencies

The US government has ordered federal civilian agencies to stop using AI tools from the Chinese startup DeepSeek. This ban includes products developed by DeepSeek and third-party services built using its technology, which must be removed from IT devices. The Department of Homeland Security and the defense department cited national security concerns, stating that using these tools may result in the transfer of sensitive data to China as both nations compete for dominance in the AI sector.
