Meituan open sources LongCat-2.0, the 1.6T, near-frontier agentic coding model that's been leading OpenRouter — trained entirely on Chinese chips

Meituan has released LongCat-2.0, a 1.6-trillion-parameter MoE agentic coding model trained entirely on Chinese chips. Previously known as Owl Alpha on OpenRouter, the model features a 1-million-token context window and is available under an MIT license. This release aims to challenge closed-source enterprise dominance in autonomous software engineering and demonstrates Chinese tech independence despite US chip export controls, potentially reshaping global AI dynamics through its high-performance, commercially viable architecture.
