‘From’ season 5: Everything we know so far

Claude Opus 5 launched on July 24, 2026, as claude-opus-5. Pricing is $5 per million input tokens and $25 per million output tokens, matching Opus 4.8 and costing half of Fable 5. It features a 1M token context window and 128K max output. A key change is that the model now thinks by default, automatically allocating thinking depth per turn based on the effort level, though users can still set this explicitly in requests.
