Cloudflare tries to outplay Jev with open-weight Clef models

Cloudflare has launched Clef and Clef-flash decision models on Workers AI, marking a strategic transition toward in-house AI development to improve its cloud services competitiveness. These open-weight Clef models are available on Hugging Face for users with sufficient hardware to run them locally. Although they incur higher costs, these models provide advanced capabilities, including the ability to process images and video, positioning Cloudflare to compete more effectively against Jev in the AI landscape.
