Consensys Is Splitting in Two as MetaMask Goes Its Own Way

Consensys Software Inc. is splitting into two separate entities. The existing company will be rebranded as MetaMask, operating as its own independent firm. Simultaneously, a newly formed Consensys will manage the organization's Ethereum protocols and institutional blockchain infrastructure business. While the company is executing this structural division to separate its consumer-facing wallet from its infrastructure services, Consensys has remained silent regarding any potential IPO plans associated with this strategic corporate reorganization.
