Cosmic House of Mirrors

NASA, ESA, and CSA released a James Webb Space Telescope image on September 29, 2026, featuring the MACS J0454.1-0300 galaxy cluster. The photograph displays brilliant golden galaxies that appear warped and multiplied, resembling a cosmic house of mirrors. This Picture of the Month captures the celestial structures in incredible detail, highlighting orange galaxies bunched on one side of the image that create a visual illusion of multiplication through gravitational effects within the deep space cluster.
