Couple accused of killing California man caught in Mexico, extradited to face charges

A couple was arrested in Mexico and extradited to California to face charges for the murder of Geoffrey Bernardi. Bernardi, a 37-year-old career technical education teacher with the Clovis Unified School District, was killed on December 18, 2025. Authorities report that the victim was mercilessly beaten by an individual. The suspects were apprehended in Mexico before being returned to the United States to stand trial for the killing of the California man last year.
