Curiosity Sees Martian Sulfur Up Close

NASA’s Curiosity Mars rover discovered the first sulfur crystals ever seen on the Red Planet. These crystals were found inside a rock after the rover accidentally drove over and crushed it on May 30, 2024. This event occurred on the 4,200th Martian day, known as a sol, of the mission. Several days following the discovery, Curiosity utilized a specialized camera located on its robotic arm to capture detailed close-up views of the fragments.
