F.D.A. Found Cyclospora During Taylor Farms Inspection in Mexico

The F.D.A. discovered Cyclospora during an inspection of Taylor Farms facilities in northeastern Mexico. The parasite was identified within a drainage ditch and a wastewater tank at a processing facility. This finding provides strong evidence that the outbreak affecting thousands of people over the summer originated in the company's processing facility or fields. Despite these discoveries, the agency was unable to determine exactly how the contamination occurred at the Taylor Farms Mexico site.
