‘The View’ co-host Sunny Hostin name-drops A-lister who phoned her over ‘blunt’ Cornell 7 remarks

Sunny Hostin clarified her viral remarks about the Cornell 7 sexual assault case during a Behind the Table podcast episode. Hostin revealed that Cynthia Erivo, the Wicked Oscar nominee, phoned her to explain why the comments sparked significant backlash. Erivo advised Hostin to lead with empathy rather than focusing strictly on the law. This conversation followed accusations that the View co-host was defending the accused parties during her original segment on the talk show's platform.
