Cubs shortstop Dansby Swanson leaves game with apparent injury

Chicago Cubs shortstop Dansby Swanson was placed on the 10-day IL after an injury during a game against the Cardinals. Swanson left the contest in the bottom of the third inning after swinging at a pitch from Hunter Dobbins, showing immediate pain. He was replaced by pinch-hitter James Triantos. Prior to this incident, Swanson had appeared in 119 of 125 Cubs games. The team trailed St. Louis 3-0 at the time of his departure.
