Ford wins Illinois House election for retiring Danny Davis’s seat

Decision Desk HQ (DDHQ) projects that La Shawn Ford, an Illinois state representative since 2007 and Loyola University Chicago alumnus, will succeed Rep. Danny Davis in Illinois's 7th Congressional District. Simultaneously, Rev. Frederick Haynes III, a Dallas pastor, is projected to win Texas's 30th District, replacing Rep. Jasmine Crockett. Haynes secured the solid Democrat seat by defeating Republican Everett Jackson. Both candidates are set to enter the House following these election results reported by DDHQ.
