Democrat Zach Dembo projected to flip Kentucky House seat

Democrat Zach Dembo, a Navy veteran and former federal prosecutor, has flipped Kentucky’s 6th Congressional District. Defeating Republican Ralph Alvarado, Dembo secured the open battleground seat with approximately 52.7% of the vote compared to Alvarado’s 43.3%. This result is considered a shocking pickup for Democrats in a district previously viewed as safely Republican. Separately, projections indicate that Democrats are expected to reclaim control of the House during the 2026 Midterms, ending current GOP control.
