Embattled House Democrat Jimmy Gomez loses reelection

House Democrat Jimmy Gomez lost his reelection bid to socialist candidate Angela Gonzales-Torres, who secured 58.66% of the vote, ending Gomez's nine-year tenure. Simultaneously, Independent Kevin Kiley, who previously left the Republican Party due to gerrymandering opposition, is projected to lose his seat in California’s 6th Congressional District. Democrat Richard Pan, a physician and former state senator, defeated Kiley by nearly 15 percentage points, according to reports from Decision Desk HQ and the Associated Press.
