Our Time and the Digital Boat Vision

The owner of Our Time, a 1994 Monterey, is utilizing the vessel as a test-bed for the Digital Boat vision. By integrating a Garmin chart-plotter, NMEA 2000 backbone, and OpenPlotter on a Raspberry Pi with a PICAN-M hat, the project converts analogue gauges into digital data via a CX5106 converter. Despite a launch delay caused by nesting robins, the owner successfully deployed the digital backbone, combining proprietary products within an open source system for enhanced communication.
