Disney names Karandeep Anand as first-ever CTO

Disney has appointed Karandeep Anand as the company's first-ever chief technology officer. Anand previously served as the chief executive of Character.AI. This appointment follows a period of tension between the two entities, as Disney issued a cease-and-desist letter to Character.AI in September 2025 regarding the unauthorized use of its characters. Subsequently, Character.AI implemented restrictions barring users under the age of 18 from engaging in open-ended chat interactions two months after the legal notice.
