Donald Iwerks, the co-founder of Iwerks Entertainment and son of Ub Iwerks, passed away on July 9 at age 96. During his six-decade career with The Walt Disney Company and his own studio, Iwerks pioneered groundbreaking innovations in projection technology, 3D, and large-format filmmaking. He died peacefully at Ojai Community Memorial Care Center, surrounded by family and friends. His professional contributions significantly transformed cinematic storytelling and immersive entertainment through various technical advancements in the film industry.
