Independent again: Double Fine and Compulsion react to leaving Xbox and taking all their games with them

Microsoft is spinning off four Xbox game studios, including Double Fine Productions and Compulsion Games, as part of a restructuring process. While Ninja Theory and Undead Labs are also involved, Double Fine and Compulsion will return to being independent developers. Xbox CEO Asha Sharma confirmed that both studios will retain their respective game catalogs and franchises, allowing the developers of Psychonauts and South of Midnight to keep their intellectual property after leaving the Xbox ecosystem.
