Driver cited after striking pedestrian in overnight crash

Two separate overnight traffic incidents occurred involving vehicles and pedestrians. In Hayward, a 52-year-old man was involved in a deadly collision around 12:10 a.m. at Harder and Soto roads, resulting in the death of a 62-year-old bicyclist. In another incident, a driver was cited after striking a pedestrian. The victim in the second crash was transported to the hospital with injuries that are reported to be non-life-threatening by authorities.
