On July 29, 2026, volunteers including Mat Steinlan, Carlos Fernandez, Vincent Weber, Julie Fidler, and Gloria Gehrt gathered in Council Bluffs to assemble Shine Bright kits. These packages provide essential hygiene items for students. The Shine Bright initiative is a collaborative partnership involving United Way of the Midlands, Omaha and Council Bluffs Public Schools, as well as Papillion La Vista. The team worked together to pack and seal the kits for distribution to local students in need.
