3.4-magnitude quake near Brentwood shakes Contra Costa County

A 3.4 magnitude earthquake struck the East Bay early Saturday morning, occurring approximately 5.5 miles northeast of Brentwood. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake occurred just before 12:30 a.m. at a depth of about 11 miles. Residents between Stockton, Pittsburg, and Pleasanton reported feeling the seismic activity. No injuries or property damage have been reported following the event, which primarily shook Contra Costa County and surrounding areas in the region.
