Earthquake strikes the North Bay Thursday

A 3.5-magnitude earthquake occurred on the Rodgers Creek Fault in the North Bay on Thursday morning. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake struck at 10:33 a.m. in the Fountaingrove neighborhood of Santa Rosa, located 2.1 miles east-southeast of Larkfield-Wikiup at a depth of 4.3 miles. Residents in Sonoma and surrounding areas reported feeling the shaking. The event was recorded as a preliminary magnitude 3.5 earthquake striking near the city of Santa Rosa.
